In Memoriam: Daniel A. Creedon

Mark C. Tilghman Funeral Home on North Forklanding Road in Maple Shade Township, NJ, is honored to announce the passing of Daniel A. Creedon, a long-time resident of Southern New Jersey and recently of Westlake Village, California, who passed away on July 30, 2010, at the age of 82.

Born with a passion for aviation, Creedon began his career by using barter and earnings from working as an airplane mechanic to pay for flight lessons. He rose through the ranks at Trans World Airlines in the 1960s, advancing his career as captain on corporate aircraft flying domestic and international routes for Atlantic Richfield Company from 1966 to 1987.

Creedon is survived by his five grandchildren, Erin Blecharczyk, James Gillispie, Lindsay Smith, Emma Smith, and David Collucci; two nieces, Linda Ruscher and Katherine Travis; and a sister, Esther Collard of Somerset, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

In addition to his career in aviation, Creedon is also remembered for his dedication to his family. His wife, Charlotte M. Oborne, passed away on July 26, 2010, at the age of 91, after a long life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. The couple had two daughters together.

A funeral service was held at St. Mary's Churchyard in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, where Creedon spent more than 40 years before moving to New Jersey. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
